Getting a marriage certificate

I had to leave to London for office work last year. I got to know about this in a very short notice.
I traveled to London and found life to be very tough for me. I’ve never lived alone in my entire life. I’ve been favorite of my parents and they too never wanted to me to leave them.
While in London I realised life is tougher there and wanted to get my wife there for my support. She didn’t had a passport either. Sitting there I requested her to get the passport done.
After a great difficulty she got her passport done. Even then she couldn’t get the visa to the UK due to various reasons but mainly due to non-submission for proof of marriage.

I came back from London after 4 months and the first thing I did was to get my marriage certificate.
To get a marriage certificate, you need to take your marriage invitation card, marriage photos (3 numbers) where the couple faces can be easily detected.

You need to go to the registrar of the location where you got married.
Ex: I stay in Vijayanagar, Bangalore and got married in WOC road, Bangalore. So I had to go to the sub-registrar office in WOC road with the above documents.
I paid a fee of Rs.150/- and got the certificate in an hour or so (took time mainly as there was some property registration going on).

That’s all I did and hurray!! Now I have my marriage certificate. Next time I need to go onsite, I can plan to take my wife.

Process for change of address in your Driving License, Rajajinagar RTO, Bangalore

After an irritating experience in the Rajajinagar RTO, Bangalore for the change of address in my driving license, I felt people should be aware of the process and possibly help others not to do the same mistakes that I did.
I was not the only person there getting harassed.

None of the staffs in the RTO was fully aware of the processes involved with various tasks being done in RTO.
I went there to apply for the change of address in my driving license.
The procedure involved is as follows:
Step 1: Buy the plastic cover available within the RTO campus to insert your original DL into it.
Step 2: Get a ball pin.
Step 3: Fill in the computer form with all your details and the new address. This form has all the necessary fields.
Step 4: A hand-written letter (or a better copy is available in any of the stores in the campus) requesting the officer to approve the change in address.
Step 5: Buy a post cover. Write the address where your new DL is to be posted. (Ensure that this address is exactly the same you are filling in the above form. Else it’ll be rejected).
Step 6: Proof for the new address (It can be only and any of these: Ration Card, LIC Bonds, Passport). No other documents were being accepted at the time of writing this.
Step 7: Fill all the forms, covers and pin it.
Step 8: Pin all the above documents and pay the money (Rs.250 at the time of writing this).
Step 9: Submit it in the counter #20. They’ll verify whether everything is correct and then give you an acknowledgement for your submission. If all is fine, they’ll ask you to get photographed in one of the counters adjacent to it. Get photographed and submit the papers back in the same counter #20.
Please note: They won’t give you any photograph. They’ll just take your computerized snap and ask you to sign on a whiteboard.

According to the RTO procedures, it’ll take at least 3 weeks to deliver the new DL with your new address.

But I still haven’t got it. May be because of too many holidays in between.

UPDATE: I’ve got my Drivers’ License a few days ago. All is well.

All the best.
I hope this information will be useful to all of you.

DND Service from Airtel: A Failure

From a long time I’ve been getting various unsolicited calls and messages from Airtel.
Even after repetitive complaints to the customer care, nothing has been done. In fact now it has increased.
Here are the numbers through which I’ve been getting calls and harassed.
9880775245
9686202397
9686453752
9008020617
9845260210
9686453869
7760962779
7760962785
9686454672

I complained about this to Airtel customer care and they registered for DND (Do Not Disturb) service on my behalf. The rep told that it will take at least a week’s time to completely stop it. This happened on Mar 3rd. I thought I wont get such calls anymore after a few days.

But even after a week, the calls/messages aren’t stopped. Even today I’m getting such calls and messages.

I really don’t know what to do next.

If any of you are having same problem, leave a comment.
